Maxim Hotel good value

I spent a week in the Maxim Hotel in March 2011, visiting Tel Aviv on business. I had an "superior" room for US$128 per night. The room had two single beds pushed together, a desk, mini fridge, clothes cupboard, and a functional bathroom. The window sticks out an an angle, so all rooms can see some part of the Mediterranean. HaYarkon Street is pretty busy at all hours, but the window was pretty solid. I asked about air conditioning, but they said they still had the heat on in early March. The room temperature was around 23C. The door had an electronic key-card lock, but no chain. No room safe. Everything was clean, someone was cleaning everything in the lobby every morning. Location is excellent, in the main Tel Aviv hotel district. ATM machine just outside the hotel. The tour guides and taxis had no problem finding the hotel. Restaurants and 24 hour grocery stores are nearby. Breakfast was quite good. Front desk staff were helpful, but in the Israeli way not overly friendly; they arranged taxis for me and did some interpreting. Overall, the hotel was good for a single business person.
