Nes Ammim was founded by a Dutch doctor in 1963. Together with his Jewish friends, he set up a community, ideologically based, in support of the Jewish people. To this day, the village and part of the hotel are operated by European volunteers who arrive to Israel for 6-18 months during which they experience the land of Israel and the variety of its inhabitants and cultures. A center of learning and dialogue is part of the village and, from time to time, engaging in discussion groups on issues between nations. These groups are hosted at the hotel.
